Business Intelligence - Email Alert when daily load is unsuccessful?
Post Date: 6/19/13 (Bronze, 2 Posts) Recent PostsWe have QAD BI verion 3.6 and BI DWD 6.5. Each night the daily load of information from QAD grinds away. On occasion something goes wrong and the daily load does not complete successfully. I generally do not know until there is a problem in the BI portal. Preferably I would like a message to be sent to my email when the Daily load is not completed, however conversly I could get a message each day when the last job has completed, in this case the lack of a message would indicate a problem. I expect there could be a function that I could enter in the box on the last Job in the the DWD entitled 'Command on Success'.
Does anyone know what this command might be or how I could resolve this issue?

It is possible to receive email notifications about the success or failure of BI jobs by entering commands in a job's Success Command and Failure Command fields. You will need to have a command-line SMTP mail client installed, such as bmail. You can then enter those SMTP mail client commands in the desired job's Success Command or Failure Command fields. Notifications can be defined for any job you choose or could be placed on each job so messages will be sent upon job termination (successful or unsuccessful). Refer to QAD knowledgebase article AA-50315 entitled "How To Setup Email Notifications as to the status of the QAD Datawarehouse Scheduler" for specific instructions along with examples using bmail. Please contact QAD Support should you have any specific questions or problems when configuring this feature.
